2022年に制作された本作は、「Shota Hasimoto」名義としての記念すべき初リリース作となる。
タイトルが示す通り、本作はある種の「鍛錬」を経る意図を持って紡ぎ出された。
2015年にTrickfingerのアルバムに出会って以来、ハードウェア機材を用いた音楽制作、ひいては電子音楽そのものの魅力にずっと取り憑かれてきた。
DAWが制作の中心となった現代において、ドラムマシンへ直接パターンを打ち込みリズムを構築していく手法は、非効率的かもしれない。
しかし、その泥臭いプロセスのなかで、シーケンスやプログラミングの本質について多くの気づきを得ることができた。
Spotifyのプレイリストキュレーターの中には、これを「DAWを触り始めた初心者の手慰み」と揶揄する者もいたが、それも表現者としての成長過程の一幕にすぎない。
メロディもリズムパターンも、未完成で粗削りであることは自覚している。
それでも、電子音楽を通じた自己表現の歩みを止めるつもりはない。
未公開のShgendō Ⅱに収録の8曲とアートワークがで付属しています。

This item is digital.
This work, created in 2022, is the first release under the name Shota Hasimoto.
As the title suggests, it was produced with the intention of undergoing a kind of training.
Since hearing Trickfinger's album in 2015, I have been continually fascinated by making music with machines and, by extension, electronic music.
In an age where DAWs are the main tool for composition, creating rhythms by directly inputting patterns into a drum machine may be inefficient.
However, through this inefficient process, I was able to learn a lot about programming.
Some Spotify playlist curators have mocked it as the work of a beginner just starting to use DAWs, but that's just one part of the growth process.
I am fully aware that both the melodies and rhythm patterns are incomplete and uneven.
Even so, I have no intention of stopping my self-expression through electronic music.
